When Does Momentum Start?

  • Momentum starts with a single, decisive breath.

We all have goals and dreams of what we would like to be doing or where we would love to be. Days dreams are the life blood of so many of us. They are what gets us through the normal everyday routines we endure. Some people feel as if they are living in an endless loop of repetitive actions. For others they feel as if they have lost the control over their own lives.

Who can say if it is actually like this or just boredom sets in. Whatever the reason it encourages day dreaming and that is key to having a focus on life. Being able to figure out what would make you happy. Thinking about how you would feel as you enjoy that dream about it. Pondering over the possibilities.

The dreams may change slightly over time. They may change from one day to the next and become even more elaborate or detailed.

Now the huge dilemma arises. How do I achieve that dream or goal? It seems so insurmountable.

Where and how do I even start? What do I have to do to get there?

There are so many questions and that leads to more overthinking.

When momentum starts.

Momentum starts with a single decisive breath. Yes it is that simple. A single breath is all it takes.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. Simplifying things makes life easier in the long run.

Will the goal be reached after that one simple breath? No, of course not, however the momentum has begun and once that happens the drive to reach the target is starting.

Making the time to stop and focus on your breathing. It means that you have put an image in your mind of your goal and as you take a breath in you are sending calm into your body and as you breath out you are releasing the negativity and preparing yourself for action.

One breath instant momentum.

You are probably already doing this.

Without realising it in your everyday life you are dreading some task eg. Having to make that phone call you have been putting off. Having to head into a meeting or meet up with someone you do not like. Whether is is cleaning your home or running an errand or whatever it is you are putting the task onto a mountain that you have to reach for. Once you realise ok I have to be an adult and confront this task the first thing you do is stop and take a single breath in and then out again. You have tipped the scale and pushed yourself forward. The momentum has begun. Now you are preparing yourself for the task.

One step is being put in front of the other.

The momentum starts with one single breath

If you are tired after a full day and finally sitting down and you have to get up and do one more thing. The first thing you do is take a breath to motivate yourself. It feels as if you are summoning your inner strength to get through this.

Somehow you are motivating yourself. Convincing yourself that you can do it and once it is done you can sit back down again. Oh, how many times we all may have been in that situation.

This can be used for so many situations in life. Catching the one single breath helps bring inner calm and restores energy to your whole body and mind.

It is amazing to think that taking that moment to stop and take in one single breath can be the start of something wonderful. Breathing out the stress and worry and feeling inspired to do the next thing.
