Why is it that we that when home aerobics is mentioned we feel a sense of dread?
The thoughts of doing another work out and the idea of it.
What kind of equipment is needed for this now? How much will it cost and how do I store the thing and where?
For some people they love cleaning and tidying their home and the routine is in it for them. They seem to do it without even thinking about it and respect to them for that. For most of us that habit may not be formed yet. This sense of gloom arises .What is the point of cleaning and tidying anyway it will get messy or dirty within hours it seems. This is more applicable for those with families with children and or pets. Of course this does not rule out those with house mates. How many of us have been in situations where we feel like the only one doing the cleaning and reach a stage of who cares?
What would happen if we change our mindset?
Instead of thinking of cleaning as some negative thing and a chore how about thinking of it as a workout. A form of home aerobics. Why not? Well it is done in your home and benefits your home. Thinking honestly about housework it is a physical job. There is body exertion used. That is if it is done correctly. Some elbow grease is needed to clean.
While cleaning the home small odd jobs can be done and some repair work can be ticked off the list.
No one can say that vacuuming is a walk in the park. Lifting or moving furniture is challenging.
Washing windows is a sport for some people. Especially if you need a ladder to get to the ones upstairs.

Does fancy equipment help?
What about robot vacuum cleaners? I have no idea I have never had one. I do see how amazing they would be for people who are not as mobile or physically able to do it. They have their uses. At the cost of them though I would rather invest in a vacuum cleaner with more suction to help me clean things properly. But then this is all a personal choice that people should make for themselves.
If someone has the money to pay someone to clean their home or gadgets to do it for them that is their choice to make. For those of us living our lives where we have to do things ourselves changing our mindset can be cheaper and actually benefit us.
By completing the household chores ourselves we are doing a body work out that means we get a cardio session and we are doing weights by lifting and carrying things around or moving the furniture to clean underneath.
When we have to do things we are also able to monitor things and keep an eye on the health of the house. Are there any issues that need repairing or replacing?
As we have to clean things manually it means we have to confront the fact that maybe we have too much stuff and do not even use half of it. Owning less stuff means less clutter and less to clean.
Another benefit of practising some home aerobics
Can you imagine the look on other people’s faces when you say oh I have to go home for a home aerobic session. A way of getting out of some thing that you wanted to avoid or just a way of looking at things in a different way.
Why is it that cleaning our homes is considered negative or something that is dreaded by so many of us. Yes, there are a lot of people who have the routine down and clean on a regular basis. Others who do it as it is a habit. Then there are some who just find it a chore and procrastinate.
What if we could change our mindset when it comes to household chores?
Home aerobics for the win
Yes as simple as that. Think about household chores as home aerobics and flip the negative to something positive.
We all know that aerobic sessions are good for us and have so many benefits but again we push it off as something that needs time or money going to the gym or joining some class.
Well how about using what you already have in your home and enjoy a home aerobic session in your own four walls.
No special new equipment needed. Use what you have and go for it.
Find the music that you love and press play. Dance around the place as you dust and clean.
Put on that pod cast you want to listen to or an audiobook. Whatever it is to motivate you then go for it.
This is your time to get things done. A chance to get the home clean and organised, enjoy a cardio workout and have some you time as you sing, dance or listen along with it. The added bonus is of course enjoying a clean and organised home. A win win situation.
